You may ask why this is called a Mountain Burger? The reason is that my son orders this burger occasioanlly from a chicken place on our local high street. I know we can do better by making a healthier grilled version with a low fat cheese, wholemeal burger buns and chicken steaks with a low salt marinade.

  1. Mix all the chicken marinade ingredients together
  2. Add the chicken and leave in the fridge for 30 minutes
  3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large griddle pan
  4. Ensure heat is on low
  5. Add the marinaded steaks ensuringnot to cram too many in
  6. Cook for approximately 8 minutes on each side
  7. Drain on kitchen towel paper
  8. Whilst the chicken is cooking, use this time to heat up the buns
  9. On the bun, add a layer of cheese
  10. Add the cooked hash brown]
  11. Add the cooked steak
  12. Add ketchup or salad (optional)
  13. Serve with chips or salad
