Green masala fish is a wonderfully fresh fish dish with light aromatic flavours. Traditionally fried or cooked in banana leaves, this hara masala fish is baked in the oven for a more healthier option.

This popular Green Masala Fish is a beautifully baked fish dish, coated in a light, fresh and fragrant green masala. On opening the foil, you will be hit by the tantalising aroma of fresh coriander and lemon.
Notes
To save time, you can use 1 tbsp of garlic and ginger paste instead of the fresh variety.

- Wash the fish and pat dry with a paper towel
- Preheat eat oven to GM 6
- Blitz garlic and ginger with a few tablespoons of water to make a smooth paste
- Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds until they pop
- Add the garlic, ginger and turmeric and stir fry for a few minutes
- Transfer this mixture to blender and add all the ingredients (except oil) and blitz
- Add water if the mixture is too dry
- Line a greased tray with foil and grease the foil also
- Place the fish on the foil and fold over to fully enclose but not touching fish This will allow steam to cook the fish
- Cook for 30 minutes
- Transfer to tray, placing any remaining masala on the foil onto the fish
- Serve with fluffy basmati rice
