
This is one the simplest and economical hot puddings anyone can make. The best thing is that you can use your stale bread! It takes only minutes to prepare, after which you pop it into the oven whilst you are enjoying dinner and then hey presto, an aromatic cinnamon bread and butter pudding!
Cinnamon Bread and Butter Pudding

This yummy yet simple cinnamon bread and butter pudding with a lovely golden brown sugar topping is a wonderfully quick dessert that anyone with a few basic ingredients at home can whizz up!
Ingredients
Half a loaf of (stale) bread – I don’t remove the edges
1 pint of semi-skimmed milk
2 large eggs
4 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp brown sugar
low fat margarine
handful of raisins or sultanas
Instructions
Spread the butter onto the bread slices then cut diagonally into two triangles per slice
Lay buttered side down in a large glass flat bottomed dish
Mix eggs, milk and sugar well and pour over the bread
Let it rest for 10 minutes
Sprinkle the raisins, cinnamon and brown sugar on top
Place in the oven for 30 mins on 200 degrees or Gas Mark 6 until golden brown
